Ingredients:

250g plain flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
300ml buttermilk or plain yogurt

Cooking Instructions:

Preheat oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the buttermilk or yogurt.
Using your hands or a wooden spoon, mix together until it forms a soft dough.
Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 1 minute until it forms a ball shape.
Place on an ungreased baking sheet and cut an ‘X’ into the top of the dough with a sharp knife to allow steam to escape during baking.
Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
