Ingredients:

1 tablespoon of butter
1 onion, finely chopped
2 smoked kippers, skinned and flaked into small pieces
100ml of double cream
200ml of fish stock or water
100g of cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions:

Heat the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the smoked kippers to the pan and cook for another 2 minutes.
Pour in the double cream and fish stock or water and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes until the liquid has reduced by half.
Add the cooked shrimp to the pan and season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for another 5 minutes until heated through.
Serve hot with crusty bread or boiled potatoes as desired.
