Ingredients:

150g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
1 onion, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon cumin powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon garam masala powder
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
½ cup basmati rice
1 cup water
Salt to taste

Cooking Instructions:

Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until they are golden brown.
Add the garlic and ginger paste and sauté for a few seconds. Then add the tomatoes and cook until they are soft.
Add the chicken cubes and cook for 5 minutes or until they are cooked through.
Add the cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt to taste and mix well. Cook for another 2 minutes or until all the spices are well blended with the chicken mixture.
Add the basmati rice and mix well with the chicken mixture. Pour in 1 cup of water and bring it to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low and cover with a lid for 15 minutes or until all the liquid has been absorbed by the rice. Turn off the heat and let it sit for 5 more minutes before serving hot with your favorite accompaniments such as raita or chutney!
