Ingredients:

150g beef cubes
1/2 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup red wine
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon thyme
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup beef broth
Salt and pepper to taste
100g egg noodles

Cooking Instructions:

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic and cook until softened. Add the mushrooms and cook for an additional 3 minutes. Pour in the red wine and simmer for 5 minutes or until reduced by half. Stir in the tomato paste, thyme, bay leaf, butter, flour, beef broth, salt and pepper. Return the beef cubes to the skillet and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes or until sauce has thickened slightly.
Meanwhile, bring a pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well before serving with the beef bourguignon sauce.
