Ingredients:

2 slices of whole wheat bread
2 ounces of lean ground beef
1/4 cup of diced onion
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
1/4 teaspoon of dried oregano leaves
2 tablespoons of tomato sauce or ketchup (optional)

Cooking Instructions:

In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat.
Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook for an additional 3 minutes or until the onion is softened.
Add the garlic powder, black pepper, and oregano leaves to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for an additional minute or two until fragrant.
Toast the slices of bread in a toaster or on a griddle if desired.
Spread tomato sauce or ketchup on one side of each slice of bread if desired.
Place the cooked beef mixture onto one slice of bread and top with the other slice to make a sandwich. Serve immediately while hot!
