Ingredients:

1 cup masoor dal (red lentils)
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, diced
2 green chillies, chopped
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste

Cooking Instructions:

Soak the masoor dal in water for 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin and mustard seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
Add the garlic and onion and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
Add the green chillies and turmeric powder and stir to combine.
Add the drained masoor dal to the pan and stir to combine everything together. Cook for 5 minutes or until the dal is cooked through.
Season with salt to taste and serve hot with rice or roti!
