Ingredients:

1/2 cup basmati rice
1/4 cup chicken breast, diced into small cubes
1/4 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 onion, diced
1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
3 tablespoons plain yogurt

Cooking Instructions:

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the basmati rice and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is cooked through. Once cooked, set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat add the vegetable oil. Once hot add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for about 30 seconds before adding the garlic and onion. Cook for about 3 minutes or until the onion is softened.
Add in the chicken cubes and shrimp to the skillet along with garam masala powder and turmeric powder. Cook for about 5 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and shrimp is pink in color.
Add in the cooked basmati rice to the skillet along with plain yogurt and mix everything together until combined well. Cover skillet with lid and let it cook for another 5 minutes or until everything is heated through evenly.
