Ingredients:

2 potatoes (boiled and mashed)
1 onion (finely chopped)
2 green chillies (finely chopped)
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
2 tablespoons of fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
Salt to taste For the chutney:
2 tablespoons of tamarind paste
2 tablespoons of jaggery
1 teaspoon of red chilli powder
A pinch of asafoetida
Salt to taste

Cooking Instructions:

In a bowl mix together the mashed potatoes, onion, green chillies, cumin powder, coriander powder and salt. Mix everything together until it forms a dough-like consistency.
Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into patties. Heat some oil in a pan and shallow fry the patties until they are golden brown on both sides. Set aside.
To make the chutney, heat some oil in a pan and add the tamarind paste, jaggery, red chilli powder and asafoetida. Cook for 3-4 minutes until everything is combined and the mixture thickens slightly. Add salt to taste and set aside to cool down.
Serve the aloo tikki hot with the chutney on top or on the side as desired! Enjoy!
