Ingredients:

100g all
purpose flour
50g butter, softened
50g brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
50g dried fruit (raisins, currants, cranberries etc.)

Cooking Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolk until combined.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the dried fruit until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Using your hands or a spoon, scoop out tablespoon-sized pieces of dough and roll into balls. Place on prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart and flatten slightly with your fingers or a fork.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
