Ingredients:

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
2 tablespoons finely chopped scallions
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
8 dumpling wrappers (round or square)
2 tablespoons water

Cooking Instructions:

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cabbage, carrots, and scallions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Place the dumpling wrappers on a work surface and spoon about 2 teaspoons of the filling into each wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water and fold in half to form a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Carefully add the dumplings to the boiling water and cook until they float to the surface, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and drain well before serving.
