Ingredients:

100g of salted codfish (bacalhau)
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon of paprika powder
2 tablespoons of parsley, finely chopped
2 tablespoons of flour
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions:

Soak the salted codfish in cold water for at least 8 hours or overnight. Drain and flake the fish into small pieces.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the cumin and paprika powder and cook for another minute.
Add the flaked codfish to the skillet and cook for another 5 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat and stir in the parsley, flour, egg, salt and pepper until combined.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Using a spoon or your hands form small balls with the codfish mixture and carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels before serving warm with your favorite sauce or condiment.
