Ingredients:

100g beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons mirin (sweet rice wine)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon grated ginger root
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)

Cooking Instructions:

In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sugar, ginger root, garlic and water. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the beef slices. Cook for 3-4 minutes until lightly browned on both sides.
Pour the teriyaki sauce over the beef slices and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 5 minutes or until the sauce has thickened slightly. If desired, add cornstarch to thicken further.
Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles of your choice. Enjoy!
