Ingredients:

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all
purpose flour
1/2 cup heavy cream or half
and
half cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cans (6.5 ounces each) chopped clams in juice
8 ounces cooked pasta of your choice

Cooking Instructions:

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the white wine or chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the liquid has reduced by half.
Add the butter and let it melt completely before adding the flour. Whisk together until combined and cook for about 1 minute until lightly golden brown.
Slowly add the heavy cream or half-and-half while whisking constantly to avoid lumps from forming. Simmer for about 3 minutes until thickened slightly before adding the salt and pepper to taste.
Add the clams with their juice and simmer for another 3 minutes until heated through and bubbling slightly around the edges of the pan. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed before adding in cooked pasta of your choice to combine with sauce completely before serving hot!
