Ingredients:

2 cups all
purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (110°F)
2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for brushing the top of the focaccia

Cooking Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Stir to combine.
Add the warm water and olive oil and mix until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a damp towel. Let rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan with olive oil.
Punch down the dough and transfer it to the prepared pan. Using your fingers, press it into an even layer that covers the bottom of the pan completely. Brush with additional olive oil if desired.
Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown on top and cooked through in the center when tested with a toothpick or skewer inserted into it comes out cleanly without any wet dough sticking to it .
