Ingredients:

80g uncooked penne pasta
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons all
purpose flour
1 cup chicken broth or stock
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
250g peeled and deveined shrimp

Cooking Instructions:

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), and oregano leaves and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the butter or margarine to the skillet and melt it over medium heat. Whisk in the flour until combined and cook for 1 minute until lightly golden brown. Slowly whisk in the chicken broth or stock until combined and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 3 minutes until thickened then stir in the lemon juice.
Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 3 minutes until cooked through then add in the cooked pasta and stir to combine everything together. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until heated through then remove from heat and serve immediately.
