Ingredients:

1 sheet of banh uot (steamed rice sheet)
2 tablespoons of cooked pork or chicken, shredded or diced
2 tablespoons of cooked shrimp, diced
2 tablespoons of julienned carrots
2 tablespoons of julienned cucumber
2 tablespoons of bean sprouts
1 tablespoon of chopped scallions
1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon of fish sauce
1 teaspoon of sesame oil

Cooking Instructions:

Begin by preparing the filling ingredients. Cook the pork or chicken and shrimp until they are fully cooked through. Shred or dice the meat and shrimp into small pieces. Julienne the carrots and cucumber into thin strips. Chop the scallions and cilantro finely. Set aside all the filling ingredients in separate bowls.
Place the banh uot sheet on a plate or cutting board. Spread the filling ingredients evenly over the sheet, leaving about an inch around the edges clear for folding. Drizzle with fish sauce and sesame oil.
Fold up the edges to form a pocket around the filling ingredients, making sure to seal it tightly so that none of the filling can escape during cooking.
Place a steamer basket over boiling water in a pot and place the banh uot pocket inside it. Cover with a lid and steam for about 10 minutes until it is cooked through and heated throughly throughout all layers.
Serve hot with extra fish sauce if desired! Enjoy!
