Indian Butter Naan with Paneer

Ingredients:

2 cups all
purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons melted butter or ghee (clarified butter)
1/2 cup warm water or as needed for kneading the dough
2 tablespoons oil for cooking the naan breads
200g paneer (cubed)
2 tablespoons oil for cooking the paneer
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
Salt to taste

Cooking Instructions:

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add in the melted butter and mix until it is evenly distributed. Slowly add in the warm water and knead until you have a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add in the cubed paneer and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove from heat and set aside.
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll each portion into a circle about 8 inches in diameter. Heat a griddle or tawa over medium heat and place one naan bread on it. Cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides then brush with melted butter or ghee if desired. Repeat with remaining naan breads.
To assemble the dish, place one naan bread on a plate then top with cooked paneer cubes followed by cumin seeds, garam masala powder and salt to taste. Serve hot with your favorite chutney or raita!
