Ingredients:

2 potatoes (boiled and mashed)
1 onion (finely chopped)
2 tablespoons coriander leaves (chopped)
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons oil for shallow frying For the Chana Masala:
1 cup cooked chickpeas
1 onion (finely chopped)
2 tomatoes (chopped)
1 teaspoon ginger
garlic paste
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon garam masala powder

Cooking Instructions:

In a bowl, mix together the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, coriander leaves, cumin powder, garam masala powder and salt. Mix well to form a dough. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into tikkis.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Shallow fry the tikkis until golden brown on both sides. Remove from heat and keep aside.
To make the chana masala, heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few seconds more.
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder and mix well to combine all the ingredients together.
Add the cooked chickpeas to the pan along with some water if needed to adjust consistency of gravy as per your preference . Simmer for 5-7 minutes or until gravy thickens slightly . 6 Serve hot with aloo tikki .
