Ingredients:

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon garam masala
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon chili powder (optional)
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 cup vegetable stock or water
Salt to taste
2 cups cooked koftas (meatballs)

Cooking Instructions:

Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric powder and chili powder (if using). Cook for another minute until fragrant.
Add the tomatoes and cook for another 5 minutes until softened.
Pour in the vegetable stock or water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.
Add the cooked koftas to the sauce and simmer for another 5 minutes until heated through. Season with salt to taste. Serve hot with rice or naan breads.
